Dirt Dessert!

On Sunday at the end of our Presidency meeting, my cute Secretary informed me that she had to go get the dirt out of her car! I know we are from a farming community, but really... dirt??! When I asked her why she had to go get the dirt out of her car, she informed me it was dessert! I found much joy and happiness in her dessert rather than her dirt! ;o)

What's in a Name?

Last night I had my first Stress Management class. My cute cousin and I are in the same class, which will be super fun! But there was this girl sitting a seat away from me. I asked her what her name was, and all I could hear was "mumble-mumble".... so I created a name for her and repeated it... she said, no... it's "mumble-mumble".... NOT wanting to ask her to repeat it a third time, I just said, "Nice to meet you!" I dub her the name Mumbleina! ;o)

Selected Hearing

HAHA, well, I forgot this happened until just now, but I was driving home from church one day, along side with my brother Jason, his wife Tricia, and their little girl Abbey. Our windows were rolled down (don't worry, we were on the road in front of our houses) and we were talking. Abbey decided to join in and ask me if I wanted to come play with her in her doll house, and I answered. Jason proceeded to say that I can't hear him when he is right next to me sometimes, but was astonished that I could hear Abbey in such a noisy environment.... I dunno, must be selective hearing! ;o)

The Look

So, this post doesn't have anything to do with what I have heard... but with "the look" I tend to give people when I hear something way off the wall. I should know by now that if I hear something that has nothing to do with what is being said, that what I heard was not what they said. NOTE: If I give you "the look" after you said something... I am probably wondering what the heck you just said. Just repeat it more clearly... NOT loudly.

Gray Hair

I was in a meeting with other secretaries that work here. One of them graciously brought some eclairs (still a little frozen) to the meeting. We were passing them around and talking about gray hairs. One of the secretaries said that she pulled two out... I, being the smart person I am, told her and everyone else that was listening that pulling a gray hair out is like cutting the head off a Hydra, for each one you pull out, two grow in its place. I received a very confused/puzzled look from everyone. Finally another secretary started laughing. She told me that the one secretary was talking about pulling out a couple of eclairs and setting them down to thaw. Eclairs.... Gray Hair.... now that DOES sound similar! ;o)

Quick Clean Tastes Best on Cake

So, I had dinner with my Dad and Step-mom today, and I asked my dad what he was getting ready to mix up with the beaters. He told me it was "quick clean"... or so that is what I heard. I said, "quick clean, to clean the dishes?" I then was told that it was whip cream for the strawberry short cake we were eating for dinner. I thought it looked a little suspicious to be for the dishes...

Did she say Chicken Nuggets?

So, I went over for lunch at my brother and sister-in-laws house, and Abbey (my neice) told me to put my chicken nuggets on the table. The thing was, we were eating tuna fish sandwiches... so I repeated what she said as a question: "put my chicken nuggets on the table?".... oh no! that was not what she said... she said, "put your napkin on the table." How I got chicken nuggets out of napkin is a mystery to me!
